28 Touchstone Homes Participated in the Susan G Komen 5k Walk May 9th
Touchstone HomesMay 2009 – Touchstone Homes employees, family, friends and kids walked in the 19th Annual Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 5k at Atlantic Station on Saturday, May 9th in support of a cure for breast cancer. Team Touchstone “Designed for Hope, Built for a Cure” had 28 members representing Gwinnett County who devoted their time and energy to support this community program.

Tina Bennett, Marketing Coordinator, has a personal reason for leading the Team Touchstone initiative. Her mother, Buffy Brunner, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999. They decided to celebrate her 10th anniversary as a survivor this year by walking the 5k. Tina and her mom, who lived in Texas until moving back to Atlanta in 2008, have walked in numerous events over the past 9 years. They vow to do this race every year together from now on.

The Susan G Komen Race for the Cure raised $1.5 million dollars for breast cancer research through the 2009 5k participants and donations are still coming in!!

April 2009 - Model Home Designer, Cassie Dixson, has been BUSY! She has opened new Sales Centers/Model Homes in four communities this year with more in the near future! Touchstone Homes has decided that some of the Model Homes were beginning to look dated and "routine", so we sold most of the furnishings to residents of the neighborhood and started fresh in the new Model Homes. Some of the Models had been open for just a year or two, some in the same location, same furnishings, same "look" for more than five years," says Cassie Dixson. "So we decided to spice things up a by showcasing other floorplans and homes with the hopes that it would drive prospective homeowners into each community." The concept behind changing models also gives a fresh look to the agent, boosts their selling morale in this "incredible" market, and demonstrates how the home can be laid out for a potential buyer.

Suffolk at Windermere opened the new Sales Center and Model Home in February 2009 in the Marlowe plan. The Marlowe is a Master on the Main plan sitting on an excellent lot in Windermere. The romance-filled evening included a delicious array of tempting foods and beverages, with special His and Hers martinis, live music and gifts.


The romantic atmosphere was set by live jazz music provided by the popular Henley Varner Band. Heron Bay's clubhouse, the Lodge, was transformed into a picture perfect location for the enchanted evening. The meal was complete with decadent dessert treats and a scrumptious Raspberry Elegance cake. Decorations included elegant white tablecloths covered in fresh rose petals, complete with soft candle light. To remember the evening, all attendees were given a special sweetheart gift, a framed copy of the couple’s picture.

Steve Brock Named Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association’s Builder of the Year
February 2009 - The Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association (HBA) named Steve Brock Builder of the Year at their annual Installation and Awards banquet on Jan. 15, 2009. The event, which honored various award recipients and announced the installation of the 2009 board of directors, celebrated Brock's accomplishments as an Atlanta home builder and member of the HBA. November 2008 - Subdivisions are shutting down, sales offices have closed up and financial institutions have taken back many new home neighborhoods throughout metro Atlanta. The builder, who has been developing new home neighborhoods since the 1960s, admits that business has drastically decreased, but they continue to build and sell homes. For example, one of their communities in Sugar Hill, Brighton Park, has 4 new homes that recently began construction. The brick ranch community has seen steady traffic the past several months. According to the new home sales agent, Cana Dailey, we have had 3 clo sings this month and a lot of interest in these new homes and I expect we will sell them soon, maybe even before they are completed. People like the fact that we are still building. They dont want to buy in a community that looks abandoned.

Another motivating factor for buyers has been interest rates, which remain drastically low. For secure buyers this is an unprecedented time to buy a home. August 2008 - Heron Bay Golf and Country Club is pleased to announce that the fifth annual Goblin Gallop to benefit Henry County’s Hands of Hope Clinic is right around the corner. People of all ages are invited to grab their favorite Halloween costumes and join Heron Bay for an evening of fall family fun. The event, a 6K run, 1mile Run/Walk and Tot Trot, is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. on October 25, 2008.

Established in 2004 as a way to bring the community together while drawing awareness of and raising funds for the Hands of Hope Clinic, the Goblin Gallop has grown in size each year, and has been hosted by Heron Bay Golf and Country Club since 2005. Circle 75 The Towns of Cresent Park and they lived happily ever after
August 2008 – When Anthea Drew and Miles Mazzawi purchased their new townhome they saw it as an investment in the future. What Drew didn't know was that Mazzawi had plans to solidify their future together. They closed on their townhome on May 2. They have been dating for the past two years and opened a successful pediatratric practice, Cherokee Children’s Dentistry, about two years ago. “We spent several months looking for a place to purchase as a couple, and as soon as we saw this community we knew we were home,” said Mazzawi. “I had this proposal planned before we even started looking for a home. eon at Lindbergh Celebrates Sneak Preview Community Opening

Cosmopolitan at Lindberg Welcomes New Agents
July 2008–Morris J. Kaplan Communities is pleased to welcome Mona Lisa Belcher and Alton Irby as their newest agents in Atlanta.
